Star Down’s Syndrome Association

It is estimated that every year at least 750 babies are born with Down’s syndrome in the U.K. Research has failed to establish any direct causes; however, there is a positive correlation between the chance of giving birth to a baby with Down’s syndrome and the age of the mother; the likelihood of giving birth to a baby with Down’s syndrome increases steadily as the age of the mother increases. The following articles will outline some of the most important things you need to know if you have Down’s syndrome or you have a relative, friend or child with Down’s syndrome. Information about additional services which can provide help, advice and support will also be included.
